Biography

My name is Jacquelyn Robins, and I am an experienced criminal defense attorney. I am a sole practitioner assisting people throughout the state of New Mexico from my office in Albuquerque. When you hire me to represent you, you get me — your case will not be handed off to an associate attorney. Contact me.

I have practiced law for more than 40 years, working the majority of that time as a criminal defense attorney.  I served as the Chief Public Defender for the State of New Mexico from 1985 to 1991.  I resigned in 1991 in order to return to the courtroom.  For more than 20 years, I have worked as a sole practitioner, devoting my practice to criminal defense and related issues.  In 2005, I received the Charles Driscoll Award, given by the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.  In 2014, I received a Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of New Mexico School of Law Alumni Association.  I practice in the Federal Court for the District of New Mexico, and all state and municipal courts in the State of New Mexico.  My caseload includes capital crimes, drug crimes, sex offenses, domestic violence (DV), and juvenile offenses.  I am also licensed to practice in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colorado, and the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.

I am a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (NMCDLA).
